Hobo Hotel

House

At Hobo, we are uniting the hyper-urban brutalism of Brunkebergstorg with a feeling of freedom and easiness. Think: traveling in a vintage VW camper and preparing food at a campfire. Our look and feel centers around the guests who love the adventure of traveling. We want them to experience pure materials, nature, community, music and good talks.

STUDIO AISSLINGER

Hobo’s interior is designed by the Berlin-based Studio Aisslinger. Studio Aisslinger is run by Werner Aisslinger, who has been responsible for several artistic and experimental projects in addition to hotels. His designs have won awards around the world, and the design team at Studio Aisslinger are the same people behind Hotel Michelberger and 25h Bikini Hotel in Berlin. Hobo was the German Studio’s first project in Sweden.

OPTIMISTIC ARCHITECTURE

With Hobo, Aisslinger has worked on the concept of creating a clean, modern and optimistic experience, where urbanism is highlighted with a lively, hippy feel. Here, creative functionalism is key.

Several specially-designed products have been produced by Studio Aisslinger, among them the Hobo sofa, designed together with the Italian furniture manufacturer Cappellini. A green and natural contrast to tech innovations and funky design is added through an extensive, aquaponic system for urban farming, where herbs and other produce for Hobo’s restaurant and bars are grown.

Collaborations with prominent local designers have further contributed to Hobo’s distinctive style as well. For example, during your visit to Hobo, you’ll see custom-made artwork by design duo Vår in the elevators, and Teenage Engineering’s purpose-built Flip Dot takes up an entire wall in the lobby.

Hobo is aiming to be the number one meeting-spot for the urban traveler, regardless of their age. Playfulness, co-creation, awareness and the love for the city are the main ingredients for the building. The core belief is that we all work, play and live better when we do it together.
