Southnord Artfest Block Party

SOUTHNORD ARTFEST 2026 IS COMING TO STOCKHOLM!

Artist Emeka Ogboh’s iconic yellow Lagos danfo bus is hitting the road, traveling all the way from Berlin to Helsinki. And yes, Stockholm is on the map – right here at Hobo!

The bus is the center of an incredible public installation for Southnord Artfest 2026 and its headline exhibition, The Other Side of the Mountain. Southnord Artfest is all about celebrating contemporary art, performance, and vibrant perspectives from the African diaspora across the Nordic region. In every city it touches, this danfo bus turns public space into an open, living zone of gathering – driven by rhythm, sound, and shared community.

Because this all coincides with Stockholm Kulturfestival, we are turning up the energy for an unforgettable block party right here at Brunkebergstorg.

WHAT IS HAPPENING AT HOBO?

Here is what you can look forward to when the bus rolls up to Hobo:

  • Soundtrack to the Afternoon: Live DJ set and jam session courtesy of @djmr_mogambo, bringing pure energy to the square.

  • Artist Talks & Live Interactions: Hang out, chat, and connect with artist Emeka Ogboh and the Southnord team.

  • Curated Eats & Drinks: We are pairing the vibe with special food and drinks crafted just for the occasion.

  • Be Part of the Art: Everything happening during the party—the sounds, the chatter, the moments—will be documented and woven into the final installation heading to Helsinki's Amos Rex museum.

Whether you're popping by for a quick drink, tracking the bus's journey, or sticking around for the full jam, everyone is welcome. Completely free, completely open.

Oya, make we go! (Come on, let’s go!)
